Ardingly Reservoir
Ardingly reservoir (198 acres) was created by the construction of a 17 metre high earth dam across the Shell brook, resulting in the flooding of both the shell and ardingly brooks. The 'Kingfisher' trail was created in 1996 and offers a four kilometre (or a shorter one and a half kilometre) walk. There are two bird hides and an Osprey nest platform (no breeding Ospreys as of 2009). Interesting at all times of the year.
