Bridges of Ross is situated on the north side of the Loop Head peninsula and is best known as an excellent autumn seawatching site. There are also breeding seabirds similar to those at the Cliffs of Moher, with raven, chough and peregrine all present, but autumn migration is when this site is at its most interesting. Skuas including pomarine Stercorarius pomarinus pictured, and shearwaters are numerous in late summer with petrels and regular grey phalarope.
