Canford Heath

Canford Heath is a suburb and area of heathland in Poole, Dorset, known for being the largest heathland in Dorset, and the largest lowland heath in the UK.It is home to many rare species, including the smooth snake, sand lizard and dartford warbler (pictured) .To maintain the heathland and its unique wildlife a 10-year management plan was introduced in 2010.In 2009, an episode of Springwatch was filmed at Canford Heath's Hatchpond
