Sir Edward's Lake

Sir Edward's Lake

Sir Edward's lake is over 30 acres and a fascinating location for wintering wildfowl although it does have intersting breeding species. It lies approximately half a mile south west from the impressive Capheaton Hall.Unfortunately the lake is private and there is no access to visiting birdwatchers, however it is possible to view the lake (with a scope) from the small lane that leads west to 'The Frolic farm'. Those requiring a closer look could try contacting the hall directly as access is allowed to those fishing on the lake or 'wedding guests' etc.
