Colwick Country Park

Colwick Country Park is a large, diverse area of water, woodland and meadows owned by Nottingham City Council. Is is nationally important for its population of wildfowl that are present during the winter. The house and parkland can be traced back to before 1362 where the ownership of the hall had passed through a number of families including the infamous Byrons and Musters.
In summer common tern pictured breed on 'tern island' and visiting birdwatchers should also expect breeding wablers and passing hobby.
The main entrance to the park is off Mile End Road, Colwick Village, on River Road, with another car park at the end of Racecourse road, past Nottingham Racecourse and Colwick Hall Hotel. Each of these entrances has public parking, though there is a barrier charge (£2 per vehicle 2016) should you wish to park past the fishing lodge at River Road.
