The Neretva River Delta

The largest wetland on the Croatian coast. The site includes extensive areas of brackish and freshwater marshes, reedbeds (Phragmites) and other emergent vegetation, as well as coastal sand beaches.
Resident;-Rock Partridge (Alectoris graeca), Western Rock-nuthatch (Sitta neumayer), with breeding Olive-tree Warbler (Hippolais olivetorum), Sardinian Warbler (Sylvia melanocephala), Subalpine Warbler (Sylvia cantillans), Spectacled Warbler (Sylvia conspicillata), Black-eared Wheatear (Oenanthe hispanica), Black-headed Bunting (Emberiza melanocephala).

Pokupsko Depression

The site includes a number of subsites: The ornithological reserve of Crna Mlaka, 14 km southeast from Jastrebarsko, is preserved almost in its original form. Due to its unique hydrographical and vegetation features and the abundance of bird species, it is a unique bird-watching site in Europe and the world. Yelping eagle, kliktas, river-gulls, black storks, herons, grebes and various species of wild ducks are just some of the many protected bird species that stay in the area during the largest period of the year. In 1980 Crna Mlaka was proclaimed the special ornithological reserve and put under the special protection.; Pisarovina fish-ponds; Draganici fish-ponds; and Lonjsko and Mokro fields. Draganici and Crna Malka are both fish-pond complexes with emergent vegetation and extensive water-fringe vegetation, surrounded by alluvial Quercus forests. Lonjsko and Mokro fields include the flood-plains of the Rivers Sava, Lonja and Strug.
Birds include White-tailed and Lesser-spotted eagle, Black-crowned night heron,Great egret, little bittern, black and white stork, Ferruginous Duck ,
