Drawa National Park

Created in 1990, the Drawa National Park encompasses both the Drawa and Plociczna river valleys, a large section of the Drawsko primeval forest and thirteen lakes of the Mysliborskie Lakeland.There are 60km of marked trails for walkers and cyclists around the River Drawa, and along the western edges of Sitno and Ostrowiec Lakes.
The most convienient base for this site lies in the town of Drawno which is bisected by the Poznan - Krzyz - Szczecin railway line.
The forests are split into two main areas, with the eastern part predominately pine with some mixed hardwood, and the western area made up mature oak, beech,and patches of hornbeam and alder.The Drawa River lies on the west side of the park and there are numerous lakes, including Ostrowiec Lake (breeding Great Comorant ) and Czarne Lake.
Over 100 species breed in the park including Black Stork, Osprey, Goldeneye, White-tailed eagle, Honey buzzard, Eagle owl, Penduline tit pictured, Common Rosefinch, Savi's and River Warbler, Red-breasted Flycatcher , Lesser Spotted Eagle, Great Grey Shrike and Golden Oriole.
