NWT Ranworth Broad

NWT Ranworth Broad is nationally important for wildlife.It is situated in the middle stretches of the River Bure Marshes National Nature Reserve.A boardwalk trail leads through woodland and reedbed to the floating Broads Wildlife Centre, which has fabulous views over NWT Ranworth Broad and contains interactive displays. Refreshments are available and binoculars and telescopes are provided for use from the upper windows. Wildlife Detective Bumbags for children are free to hire. Disabled parking is available and the centre and boardwalks are suitable for wheelchairs.All year round birds include the wonderfully explosive songster the cettis warbler, great crested grebe and marsh harrier, whilst the spring / summer brings breeding common tern and reed warbler (above).There is also a possibility of seeing the wonderful swallow-tailed butterfly.
