Syderstone Common

Lying 2km south of Syderstone village in West Norfolk this acidic heathland is punctuated with alkaline pools lying in the bottom of the valley, making for a rich diversity of flora and fauna. In summer birders can expect to find Nightjar and woodlark (pictured) , but Syderstone is perhaps best known for its rare natterjack toad, one of only two inland sites in the UK where they are still found.
