A unique fragment of the wilderness that once covered East Anglia, Wicken Fen is the oldest nature reserve in britain.A haven for birds, plants, insects and mammals alike. It can be explored by the traditional wide droves and lush green paths, including a boardwalk nature trail, giving access to several hides.Covering 800 acres it consists of four main areas:Sedge Fen, St Edmund's Fen, Adventuers' Fen and Baker's Fen.
Birds;- Water Rail, Bearded tit, Cettis's Warbler, Reed warbler, Lesser Whitethroat,Reed bunting (pictured), Turtle Dove, All three woodpeckers, Marsh Harrier. Winter Hen Harrier roost.
